I worked at Sobeys part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – great place to work. worked with many great people in the years I was there. If you have the skills and want to work then there is more work to be had, if you want the easy route then expect the easy hours.
was a pleasure
Cons – no cons that don't come with any other form of employment. all jobs have their ups and downs, its what your attitude is that makes the job and betters your future
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Sobeys full-time for more than a year
Pros – It depends who your working for and what your doing. I worked bakery and I didn't mind the work, time went fast. I was happy to be recognized as employee of the month.
Cons – Sometimes management can be a pain. The wage for part time was pretty bad. Hours can be bad, but it depends how well you work, if your a real good employee sometimes you can get favorable hours.
Advice to Senior Management – The auditing requirements were absolutely through the roof, and put unneccessary strain on the bakery. Also getting taken over by corporate didn't allow us to make special items which pissed off a lot of customers. Lets public sobeys make special items and give them hours for it. It still makes you money.

I have been working at Sobeys
Pros – friendly environment, flexible hours, clean
Cons – Only minimum wage, as a student, more opportunities should be offered in general to make better pay.
Advice to Senior Management – Don't sweat the small stuff, although some of your pressure on us comes from Head office's pressre on you, be understanding that not every detail can be perfect

I have been working at Sobeys
Pros – If you dont want to continue your education past high school, becoming a department manager at a sobeys isn't a terrible way to go. I chose school, but the opportunity was there for me to take a position as a seafood manager.
Cons – Not alot of freedom, and there are some very foolish policies handed down from head office that you MUST follow(same I'm sure with plenty of places). Experience will vary greatly from store to store.

I worked at Sobeys part-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Friendly, cool staff ( for the most part)
Great corporate atmosphere
Cons – Some levels of management were poorly run
Many of the customers are rude and inconsiderate
Disorganized department managers
Advice to Senior Management – Given who your target employees are (people aged 16-23) there should be a larger focus on instilling great employee, management, organization skills. After all if these people see value they could be the future leaders of the company..
