I worked at Sofitel Hotels as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Not many positives other than the people I worked with. All the staff were lovely and an absolute pleasure to work with. I only worked here for two months but I did get the feeling that they would have supported all of my aspirations and done everything possible to help me

    Cons

Due to shift work the hours I was normally placed on weren't particularly social. Either 6-15 or 15-00. The latter of which is a lot worse. The staff canteen served some interesting food to say the least, often serving the same meals on consecutive days.

They treat staff very fairly, as soon as something is wrong they will fix it ASAP
One of the best hotels I have worked for.
    Great work life balance
    Discount on local gym

    Cons

Pay rises are done annually (perhaps to make people stay longer)
    Not much else...

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Sofitel Hotels full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Discounts at other Accor properties when traveling.

    Cons

Bullying by superiors, harrassment by superiors, no opportunities for advancement, company does not want to invest in your future or your skills, does not provide you with the necessary tools to do your job. Overall an incredibly negative, controlling environment.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider lower level employees important instead of just focusing on your executive team. There are so many problems with the way your executive team treats your mid-level employees and that is why the Chicago property has so much turnover.
