Current Employee – been working at Standard Pacific full-time for more than 8 years

Pros – Allowed to work without micromanagement. Good family/work balance. Compensation was very good. Benefits were very good. Work atmosphere was excellent.

Cons – Senior management i our division was not skilled enough for their positions. Anonymous in-house surveys were not actually anonymous and senior management did a poor job of trying to fool employees into thinking they were anonymous.

Cons – Management treats labor poorly. Poor communication, demeaning, demanding, micro managing, etc.

Pros – Quality builder. Really focused on employee and customer satisfaction.

Cons – Company was financially hurting when housing was in it's downturn because of footprint.

Cons – They hired some stupid ding dongs rejects from other companies they should not have hired.

Pros – The corporate culture nationwide has been very employee friendly, which is not the norm in the building industry.

Cons – If you don't want to work weekends don't bother. Turnover within the industry is very high in large part due to the hours required.

Advice to Senior Management – Be considerate of employee's days off. There aren't many as is.
