    Pros

SPH builds good homes and builds them well. They pay attention to customer preferences and try to stay ahead of the trends.

    Cons

Employees are expected to do more and more with fewer resources and less autonomy. Salaries were frozen during the economic downturn and never recovered. When I started with the company, the focus was on the customer. By the time I left, it was all about profit margin. Volatile and disrespectful employees were tolerated as long as they produced the right numbers.

    Advice to Management

Consider employee value as equal to shareholder value. Do a salary analysis to ensure the employees are compensated fairly across the organization.

    Pros

Upper management really cares about lower ranking employees and really encourages growth and educational opportunities. Great benefits packages with 2 weeks starting vacation and a chance to earn more days as you grow with the company. Lot of holidays throughout the year. Always celebrate each employee's birthday. Very fun environment to work in. Lot of social activities provided by the company to foster community between all departments.

    Cons

    Pros

The people are great and oter departments besides the Accounting were really fun.

    Cons

Some managers are not out for you, they dont care if you have to stay until 9pm everyday (arriving at 8 or 7am) to get extra work done. Work load and expectaions are unrealistic ( In accounting department.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees, hire more people so moms and fathers can go home to their children before their bedtime.

    Pros

Allowed to work without micromanagement. Good family/work balance. Compensation was very good. Benefits were very good. Work atmosphere was excellent.

    Cons

Senior management i our division was not skilled enough for their positions. Anonymous in-house surveys were not actually anonymous and senior management did a poor job of trying to fool employees into thinking they were anonymous.
