Current Employee – been working at Sun Chemical full-time for less than a year
Pros – A positive sign is when many of the people have been with the company for 10 years or more. However, with that they are still looking for ways to remain relevant as the industry continues to change.
Cons – A challenge that still remains is altering peoples minds that the company needs to continue to evolve. Many people have been happy with remaining at the status quo and are reluctant to change however upper management is eager to move forward giving lots of credibility to newcomers into the organization.

Current Employee – been working at Sun Chemical full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Most of the people at Sun Chemical are fantastic. It is amazaing what people get done without support from management.
Cons – Upper management is completely dis-engaged from the employees. There is no sense of common goals. Most decisions appear to be reactionary, not proactive
Advice to Senior Management – Share the company's vision; bring back the dropped benefits and holidays.

Former Employee – worked at Sun Chemical full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Good benefits and relatively good compensation
Cons – The upper management is not aware of what is going on at the manufacturing sites. They need to reaccess the middle management that is in place and make them more accountable to find out who the key employees are at each location and what they do.
Advice to Senior Management – Needs to become more involved at the plant level. Get your hands and see who is really responsible for making the process work.

Former Employee – worked at Sun Chemical full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Great Benefits
Fantastic People
Company still has comparitively good benefits, namely medical and 401K programs.
Cons – Serious Morale Issues
Senior Managment is Completely Out of Touch
Round after round of cuts has done nothing but kill morale in all parts of the business. Meanwhile there was fairly widespread "knowledge" that Senior Leadership still got bonuses at the expense of the line staff!
Advice to Senior Management – Listen to your people!

Former Employee – worked at Sun Chemical
Pros – Professional organization and people, talented coworkers that make great teams. Even though the company is the largest ink manufacturer in the world, there is still a sense of family.
Benefits are better than average for industry. I have no complaints, no regrets. I enjoyed my time with this company.
Cons – There are no cons about the company, but the entire printing industry is in sharp decline. Unfortunately, that causes loss of business and necessary downsizing. I would not recommend the printing industry as a whole, but as far as ink manufacturers, Sun Chemical is great.
