    Pros

I thought for half and got to write something nice but got only one point i.e. Good cafeteria, easy to get a job.

    Cons

    Its a long list.
    1) onboarding process is the worst , HR will come and give u 60/- coupon and ask you to go and have lunct at cafeteria.

    2) fresher's batch is divided into java and .net in random basis not on their performance during training.

    3) Being trained on java they will put you on production support project and if you try to retaliate HR will abuse you in front of everyone. Happened with me when I was tagged for Moody's project.

    4) there is absolutely no work here as they dont have any projects. Most of the projects are of manual testing. No growth at all.

    5) Salary and perks are below the IT standard and hike is divided into slot for first year 45k,30k,20k thats it.

    6) Recently fired 4000 employee without prior notice.

    Advice to Management

Please try to work on above points. Your company sucks a big time. There is nobody inspiring at higher level who can motivate employee to work hard . Rakesh I had lots of hope with u.

    Pros

    1. You can showcase your talent and get recognized
    2. Good chance to get onsite opportunities as compare to rest of service companies.
    3. As lateral hire you can bargain on salary as much you want.

    Cons

    1. Top most point would be worst kind of HR people I have ever encountered in my professional life. They simply behave class room teachers and reason is senior management support them.
For example if HR teams drop a broadcast mail for town hall, it is expected that everyone gone through that mail. If any employee has some deliverable then it is obvious that he/she will not go, but stupid HR people will come on floor and start behaving like teacher to make sure you leave all work, attend town hall. I didn't understand which university gave them Master's Degree or whether they know meaning of professionalism or not.
    2. Lot of testing manager came into development project and their simple calculation goes like if 6 people can do a work in 4 days then induct 12 people(6 more fresher) and get work done in 2 days... :-)
    3. To win projects, sales guys commit like anything to client without proper estimations.
I saw project estimation without requirement also, kind of abstract requirement like need to create webservice.
    4. There are only 2 kind of people in Syntel, who enjoys life as well as office and another one for whom work life balance goes on toss.
    5. Hardly any employee friendly policy.

    Advice to Management

No advice as management hardly listen to employees.

  9. Good exposure to work with clients if you

    Cons

Policies are not employee centric.. Internal process are not transparent or even followed completely..

    Advice to Management

Build a Brand by supporting employee by better pay structure, timely promotions. Start applying Green cards for deserving employee so that they can stay with you for longer period of tie..

    Pros

Good exposure to different things. Can learn lot of new things. Good on-site opportunities.
Work life based on project to project.

    Cons

Always driven by some mandate without understanding client or employee needs.
At manger level it's all about resourcing, data collection instead of actual project management

    Advice to Management

Be client centric and don't focus on only internal numbers
