    Pros

Great health benefits. I could work from home sometime. I did meet a few new people that were nice. That's all.

    Cons

Corrupt. Dishonest. Unreliable. Stole from me... never repay relocation costs. System makes it almost impossible to turn in reimbursement. Called me to relocate to PHX yet did not have a job lined up for me. Scary.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at Syntel

    Pros

    Offers good salary to freshers

    Cons

You'll end up waiting for months and months before they decide to give you a joining date. If you get selected through campus recruitment, do not stop looking for alternate companies just because Syntel offers you a job. There are thousands of freshers still waiting for their joining for the past 6-9 months already.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop hiring people if you don't have enough business to back it up.

I have been working at Syntel full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

    Lots of learning
    Role flexibility
Good growth in niche technology practices
Good place for ambitious, aspirational people

    Cons

Low performers play dirty politics to sabotage efforts of high performing individuals
    Rampant regionalism, favoritism
Retention policy only exists for extremely motivated and high performing people
Little synergy, lots of squabbling between teams and practices
Low benefits, incentives, quantum of variable pay always on lower side
People driven and not process driven

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Processes exist but only to pay lip service
Scope of retention policy needs to be extended beyond the currently (very few) high performing individuals, keep company profile in mind - service oriented companies need to retain moderate performers as well (in a non-recessive market)
HR needs to be a lot more receptive
Provide better benefits, incentives; increase quantum of variable pay

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
