    Pros

TIBCO has been my home for many years, one of the most attractive things are the team, the robustness of the Integration software and the vision of an Event-Enabled architecture. The support, consulting and pre-sales organization are committed to the success of the customers and go above and beyond their job responsibilities to help when needed.

    Cons

The management team is weak and unexperienced, the company runs literally on Excel and Google Sheets. TIBCO barely uses its own software, the CRM (Salesforce) is not integrated with the ERP (Oracle) or TIBCO's own analytics solutions (Spotfire).

Through the last four or five years, the company went from being an innovative leader, proponent and contributor of many industry standards to be a follower and be trying to catch up in almost all markets. Some products are delivered in the cloud as a Service (Analytics) but all the others a way behind.

TIBCO is loosing key personnel in engineering, consulting and pre-sales and that is having an impact of the "Hero" mentality of the company that keeps customers satisfied. Almost every week one of this "Heroes" leaves the company and that has a huge impact on the morale of the rest of the team.

Most of the revenue of TIBCO comes from the existing customer base, very few new logos and most of them through the Integration Market. Dispare and disconnected solutions that run on all sorts of engines with no real central administration and monitoring tool.

    Advice to Management

Care about your employees, organize meetings where Vista Equity Partners can listen directly from the employees and customers their concerns rather than blocking the communication and hide it behind the sales numbers that are still good thanks to big loyal customers.

Review the management, you can't run a company based on the latest book that a VP bought at some airport while traveling ("Checklist Manifesto", "Business Model Canvas", "Team of Teams"), facilitate the communication and collaboration between engineering, consulting, marketing and pre-sales and stop the internal "Game of Thrones" between the leaders of those groups. It hurts to see things the way they are right now.

    Pros

There is lot of good architects and engineers, I learn lot of knowledge from them. And TIBCO have good culture, people once love to work here.

    Cons

The Privatization destroy the engineer and technical team, people don't like the way they be treated, TIBCO lost many good engineers.

    Pros

Flexible environment, Sincere effort to get better

    Cons

Pure account management focus. Have no strategy for new account acquisition. PE ownership pays lip service to growth, but all signs point to managing cash flow as primary driver.

Marketing dept. is incompetent. Entire focus is on lead gen, and have failed to deliver.

    Advice to Management

The world has changed. Develop real differentiation from competition. Develop realistic pricing strategy to win new clients.

    Advice to Management

Vista should change top management to fully embrace digital marketing and developp partner ecosystem.

    Pros

Very smart technologist. Working on the hardest problems in Industry stalwart companies. When implemented in a large company TIBCO can truly transform their business and not many software companies can compare. I've had more CxO discussions in this company than my entire career which is an indication of the mission critical nature of our solutions.

    Cons

Marketing leads are non existent. Product is not in hyper growth mode, so it takes incredible focus and activity to build a territory. Qtly pressure is not unlike any other s/w company but it is intense.

    Advice to Management

Stay ahead of the market by listening to your clients more and not creating products as pet projects.

    Pros

Good salary, smart people, leading edge product.

    Cons

Very poor marketing in every sense of the word. Competitors with weaker products are taking the lead due to better marketing. Recently merged with Jaspersoft and laid off many people.

    Advice to Management

Customers don't buy features ...they buy benefits. Improve your marketing. A new logo is not the answer.

    Pros

Great work-life balance, as everyone is pretty much sitting on their hands waiting for this corporate collapse to run its course.

    Cons

    - Outdated products.
    - No decent cloud/SAAS offering.
    - Projects are failing, deals are being lost, too many people are getting fired and leaving.
    - The company has lost it's sparkle.

    Advice to Management

too many people are leaving because they didn't feel respected or valued. TIBCO unfortunately let go of quality employees that were critical to business function and then as a result even more quality employees had resigned.
You let the talent go and the people left are walking blindly.
