Great place to work when looking for nice and safe environment

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsFlexible working, supportive environment, Good Work-Life Balance

ConsHuge Corporation, bureaucratic approach, slow decision making, many decisions are still done in Spain

Advice to Senior ManagementEncourage less hierarchy, establish faster ways of getting things done, high potentials and outperformers should be rewarded better otherwise this leads to average and mediocre results instead of outstanding,, salaries should not based on age but performance, high bonus incentives would get jobs done quicker and better

Sold all it's workers to Capita without as much as an apology

Customer Service Advisor (Current Employee) Leeds, England

ProsWon't be working for them after 1st July. Thought they were a great company to work for up until now. They offered flexible benefits and good work/life balance and I had defended them to all the customers throughout thick and thin

ConsThey don't care about their staff or customers. Capita have taken ove all call centre operations and will start looking for any way to save money

Advice to Senior ManagementWhy ruin a good company because you are in debt by outsourcing most of the operations?

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Enjoyable and fun place to work meeting a wide range of people every day

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    ProsFlexible working
    Great staff
Good discounts for staff contracts etc
Slightly above average salary for retail job
    lots of stores

ConsCan be a bit boring at times when the store was quite. But overall it is a good place to work in retail, by far the best retail job I have had

Excellent place to work, struggling in recent times, like a lot of technology companies

IT PM (Current Employee) Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England

ProsGreat culture, market leader, good benefits, largely a successful business model. Global view and reach coming in to play with increasing influence of Telefonica in Spain

ConsRecent globalisation with Telefonica bringing a lot of complexity, innefficiency, and pain during transformation. May be seen as UK is dropping to standards of the centre - although a lot of the luxuries afforded to O2 UK are now not available in today's economic climate.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep going, remember values.

    Great start to my career

Relationship Manager (Former Employee) Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England

ProsThere were great opportunities throughout the business with a focus on personal development. If I found a relevant course for my personal/business development 9 times out of 10, it got approval.
The company can do culture resonated from the Board to the everyday manager. I worked with so many people that took pride in their work, overall a really empowering experience.

ConsOver the years I worked at BT Cellnet, Cellnet, O2 and finally Telefonica O2; there were constant restructuring, unfortunately the process didn't always identify the skill gaps created by the great people that left and the impact on productivity could be felt for months after.

Advice to Senior ManagementI made a conscious effort to know the leadership Team but many of my colleagues could not name the board members nor were they interested in finding out.

    Short and not so sweet

Knowledge Manager (Current Employee) Slough, Berkshire, South East England, England

ProsEmployee recognition scheme 'Fan Club' is a good idea.

ConsLack of honesty and integrity from immediate management regarding job status

Advice to Senior ManagementExamine employees more closely when reorganising, and keep the ones that achieve rather than the ones wuth the sales patter

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Great people with good pay, company adjusts targets to make sure you don't miss out

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee) Glasgow, Scotland

ProsTargets are more than reasonable with constant rewards for good performance and support if your struggling, the low staff turnover demonstrates this

ConsSystems are not currently the greatest but they recognise this and are working to improve them.

Advice to Senior ManagementUtilise the talents that exist within the company to tackle issues, most problems could be solved by sharing the challenge with everyone and listening to the feedback given. This means specifics, good ideas come from the desire to overcome challenges, the challenges need to be shared.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company
