    Pros

It is a great way to find out the latest toys that kids are wanting for Christmas and the see the latest games available.

    Cons

You work your butt off for 6 or 7 days a week and get less than minimum wage. You are left to cope on your own. You are even asked to work after you have injured yourself instead of being taken to hospital. If you have a life threatening accident, DO NOT expect any help or sympathy, just expect to be told to GET BACK TO WORK. Legal standards are very lax. Health and Safety violations are rife. And management does not care about anything except getting more money.
Offers are false. There has been a number of items 'On Sales' and then listed as 'Half Price' and then back to 'On Sales' without actually being sold at the full price.
AVOID THE PLACE LIKE THE PLAGUE is you want to stay alive.

I worked at Toys ''R'' Us as a contractor (less than an year)

    Pros

Helping Customers, Staff Discount, Learning about the toys and products.

    Cons

By law you can work 6 hours without a break. Anything over that and you get half an hour. Toys R Us take the ps with this and I was working over 6 hours and staying behind without any break. We was only allowed a glass of water. Management is poor and first day put me on the shop floor, then gave me an 'induction' (reading papers), after I had done a 6 hour shift knowing nothing. Employees are depressed with low pay, hardly any breaks and made to feel like dirt if you don't get things right straight away. It is a shame because it could be a great company to work for. They are ALL about PROFIT. They don't care about the customer, the stock or the staff. All they want you to do is smile while doing a slave labour job. Give it a miss. I walked out.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Treat your staff better. At least a 10 min break allows staff to be more productive and relaxed with customers. Some people smoke. You can't expect people to go 6 and half hours without ANY break for a snack, coffee or a cig. Sort it out.

I worked at Toys ''R'' Us part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

My co-workers were all great team players. Working in such a massive store keeping things in order requires all hands on deck, that is something I always enjoyed.

    Cons

I found it difficult to climb up the ladder to success. Everything seemed to work on a who you know bases, not a professional what you know basis. This made the job kind of uncomfortable, non the less a high school competition for popularity.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Being more verbal with the team, Emails don't always make a point.

I have been working at Toys ''R'' Us part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

For a part time jobs the benefits are great. You get Vacation and earned time off, both of which are paid. Coworkers are general friendly

    Cons

You can work anywhere from 4 hours a week to 40 with really no idea what the next week will be. This makes budgeting very difficult. The company is trying to cut cost wherever possible and usually the first place they make cuts is by having less employees in the store. They have done that especially this last year while also expecting us to get way more done as a store. When you do work you are often over worked and I usually end up not getting one of my breaks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be more consistent in how many hours you are giving to individual employees. Also finish the schedule more than 3 days before it starts.

I have been working at Toys ''R'' Us part-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Fun down to earth store management, rewarding guest service, and a good, family like team. Every day is different and the interaction with happy kids is awesome.

    Cons

Awful corporate policies, upper management has no ideal about the market or products. Upper Management can be at best incompetent, and at worst they will hinder the store from doing their job effectively and efficiently
