    Pros

Adequate training, if the employee was willing to work on their own time to improve their flexibility of skills, Trinity fully supported their efforts.

    Cons

Although quite some time since I was employed with Trinity, I found it challenging to introduce new ideas.

    Pros

paychecks are direct deposit.....free coffee and a free lunch now and then.
downstairs has a nice bathroom to drop a good load in private.

    Cons

You have a huge group of AARP members with no relevant knowledge or skills left....they just linger about. Then, there is the gaggle of aerospace or tech company rejects that were hired to manage a company that does not do a thing in manufacturing that was not being done the same way 50 years ago. The accounting,HR and IT disiplines at corporate are up to speed with most modern companies so if you need a job in these professions, you will enjoy it. If you think you can bring experience in manufacturing, engineering ... you will want to jump out of the window. If you are not a good engineer, this is a great place to catch a free ride and wait for people to leave if you have the time. you may get a seat by window.

Operations are horrendous.....most plants look like they are in a third world country. Ancient technology .....Filthy, old ,out dated ,poorly maintained equipment.

if you really need a job to keep your familly fed, by all means take a job here.
if you have a job...but no one is peeing on your back, and telling you its raining, stay put and look elsewhere. It is not a move up if you are marketable.

    Advice to Management

make your new hires work in operations for the first 180 days and vet people thoroughly before you let them lead people and by the way....you need more clerical staff.... you pay 70k plus for professional engineers to type away on the 40 year old MRP system when they could be designing out cost and looking at new materials to be more efficient.

    Pros

Very relaxed working environment. The work is not difficult nor exhausting.

    Cons

You're not allowed to have any outside entertainment (book, magazine, etc.) The communication between staff is nonexistent and results in frequent unscheduled overtime.

    Advice to Management

    Work on the communication.

    Pros

Room for advancement if you like to "play the game"

    Cons

VP's will lie to try to get what they want. Everyone seems out to only cover their own tails and advance no matter who they step on. Traditional company with lots of "untouchables". Meetings about having other meetings. Managers with no management experience.

    Advice to Management

Actually hold people to the values you say you promote.

    Pros

Many different industries from Rail, Utility Structures, Wind Towers, LPG (Liquid Propane Gas), Facilities and General Maintenance, Marine, and Highway Products. If it involves steel they make it. When one industry is going through a down period the other industries are booming - so it balances.

    Cons

Opportunities to be promoted from within are very slim to non-existent. They usually hire from the outside for those positions.

    Advice to Management

Consider promoting existing employees rather than looking to the outside.

    Pros

    1) Ability to enhance your skills, try new tools and explore its feasibility to ease redundant tasks.
    2) Good support from colleagues
    3) Excellent pay

    Cons

    1) IT department needs to grow at a quick pace
    2) They need to understand the importance and the gains which IT can provide to the company apart from being a cost.

    Advice to Management

Training could be provided to IT interns and they can be molded into future employees.

  10. Helpful (2)

Company places primary value on numbers to support shipping schedule. Safety and quality are only bywords written to meet a requirement. There is an overtly negative atmosphere and little reason to expect improvement with current leadership in place.

    Pros

Recieving a regular pay stub... Decent benefits and compensation.

    Cons

Way more stress than need be, and most of it is generated or supported by supervision. Attendance policy is horrible. How can you offer benefits for medical, dental and vision and then punish with "points" when the benefit is used. Human resources appears to be more of a "hit squad" that a company or employee support group.

    Advice to Management

Learn to treat people with the dignity, respect and consideration that the company core values would have you believe is done. Move forward from an elitist attitude for rule making and enforcement. And lastly, hire people into key positions whose experience with railroad tank cars is not limited to watching them go by at a crossing.

Need to be more concerned with safety
