Former Employee – worked at Verizon full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great experience and team work.
Training support and development available
Cons – Challenging times as company is going through restructure.
Departments not as interactive and open to communication as it could be. Takes time foe changes to be implemented
Advice to Senior Management – To listen to ground level staff as they experience the daily operational and systems issues. All areas of companies should be more open to new ideas and work as a team. There needs to be interaction with all departments and have common key objectives to aim for.

Current Employee – been working at Verizon full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great commission plan. Multi-cultural team
Cons – I was told I would have to work far harder than then men to succeed in sales & they were not wrong! Younger ladies are likely to reach Junior Sales or Sales Support - the transition to Account Director seemed to be more based on your age/time in the company - not performance.
Bit of a boys club if you ask me!!!
Advice to Senior Management – No advice! The company simply wasn't for me!!!

Current Employee – been working at Verizon full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Salary package is good. If you like big empty offices that's a plus!!
Cons – Where to start! Constant reductions in staff increase pressure on fewer and fewer to deliver. Selling something is the easy part - the company then appear unable to deliver. Nobody takes ownership of issues. Sales targets growing 30% YOY! All investment goes into US network, International is just being left behind. Pressure to sell cloud and security for a long time now, forget voice and data. Oh, revenues are falling off a cliff, sell anything!!!!
Advice to Senior Management – There is a culture of bullying from the top, which gets delivered down to those doing a hard days work. Staff feel undervalued and there is an attitude of 'if you don't like it, then leave' which undermines what could/should be a great company

Former Employee – worked at Verizon full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Paid well. Good Pension. Some opportunity for flexibility and to work from home. Some training investment in recent years. Not much else
Cons – Little career advancement prospects if non-US based. Staff morale issues tend to be ignored and worsen by aggressive american management style. Little collaboration between teams who frequently in fight due to conflicting priority and competition for survival. Decision making is very top heavy and american centric with staff on the ground having told they are 'accountable' for the consequence of these out of touch decisions. Managers frequently lack management capability and have poor people and communication skills. Teams are distributed around the globe and staff are pretty much expected to work ridiculous out of business hours with little respect for personal life or extra compensation. Work here if you are happy to be told what to do and if you don't care if you are not listened to.
Advice to Senior Management – Start to show your staff particularly those who had dedicated years of loyal service to the company the respect that they deserve as professionals. Stop rewarding aggressive behaviour and start adequately managing grievances and complaints. Stop the culture of promotions without opening up positions for open competition. Stop pushing americanism and out of touch company credo onto staff in a brain washing way, it doesn't work and causes resentment.
