    Pros

Plenty of room for advancement and to change position if you are driven. Local Managers are supportive.

    Cons

High level Management keeps looking to cut benefits and costs.

    Advice to Management

    Leave PST alone.

    Pros

The company is very strong and stable. There are many people that have spent 25 or more years with the company.

    Cons

The company tends to very conservative in the business risks it takes. Unless you have been with the company for more than a few years, your opinion may be discounted and seen as not acceptable in Grainger's way of doing things.

    Advice to Management

Be bolder in the risks and endeavors that you are willing to pursue. If our industry is going to consolidate, as you have been saying it will, lead in that consolidation.

    Cons

Very "political" in advancing with company. They seem to want to hire/promote anyone except Caucasian males.

    Pros

Great hourly pay in distribution center
    Paid time off
Manager brings lunch for employees often.

    Cons

    People sometimes butt heads
    Things can get disorganized
Sometimes have to work longer than 8 hour days.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. I would recommend taking the time to go more in depth in interviews so you don't get "duds" out there on the floor.

    Pros

Good pay, great retirement, decent benefits, numerous resources, great connections, good work/life balance, strong employees, easy lateral movement, solid structure.

    Cons

Definitely not what i would consider an innovative company (they would definitely disagree with this). Far ahead for their industry, but as a whole i feel like i am working for a company that cannot comprehend real change and just makes small moves to catch up to technology that no other distributors are even considering. Definitely working for "the man", so sit back, do what they say, and don't disrupt the waters. If you want to get a mid level job making right around 100K with a great retirement you have found your job, but if you desire anything more i wouldn't even consider it.

    Advice to Management

Wayyyyyyyyyy too many employees that basically do nothing.
