I worked at WalMart Canada part-time for less than a year
Pros – pretty good pay for a first time associate
good part-time gig for students
Part-time/ Peak-Time means you'll usually get close to full-time hours during Peak-Times like Christmas, Back to School
A lot of management is pretty chill
Pretty flexible with scheduling.
Managers often took the time to tell individual employees when they've done good and other times gave constructive critisim
Cons – The employee discount is rather weak
The Walmart Vests were tacky and kind of got in the way
Advice to Senior Management – Communicate collectively with the associates in the department, to see if there is solid cohesion in the group so employee engagement isn't hindered and if there are bumps in that road they can be worked on or improved. Keep investing time into complimenting/ encouraging individual associates when fitting.

I have been working at WalMart Canada full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – The benifits for my family, close to full medical and dental with silver package. Always oppertunity to move up in the company.
Friendly environment
Option to buy stocks (Great way to make some cash if you do it right.)
Instantly approved for credit card no matter how bad your credit.
10% discount on everything but rollback and clearence.
Cons – Can be stressful situations when higher ups come in: Hair on fire moment
Can be hard to start off at walmart, either not enough hours or too much. Part timers are expendable.
Your view of humanity goes down. What custamers will do to save a buck.
Advice to Senior Management – Better people management is needed when it comes to disruptive assosiates. repeating complaints and nothing done leads to poor morale, and poor work enviroment. Don't commit to something then not do it.

I worked at WalMart Canada
Pros – Good hours, flexible, easy to switch shifts/ get covered, friendly coworkers, easy to work your way up, easy to get the job
Cons – rude customers, long hours, low pay, superviors don't really know what they're doing, management expects employees stand by policies yet doesnt back up associates

I worked at WalMart Canada for less than a year
Pros – The best part about working here is that you meet so many different people. Both shoppers and colleagues give you the chance to socialize with others. Plus you get to shop as you work, scouting out new products and promotions that are going on.
Cons – The down side of working here is that the pay is less than nominal, the hours of operation demand very flexible availability, and its quite boring.
Advice to Senior Management – My advice is to really engage with all associates and get feedback to improve not only the customer's experience but the employee's as well. Especially since most employees are also customers.

I have been working at WalMart Canada part-time for more than a year
Pros – flexible hours
ability to switch departments quite easily
Cons – depending on what department you work in, there is a chance that you are disconnected from management. In my department, we are a "specialty" area, so we don't get to know or speak to management much.
Advice to Senior Management – It would be appreciated if all associates were able give suggestions and feedback, some associates rarely if ever go to meetings.
