Former Employee – worked at Wynn Resorts full-time for less than a year

ProsThe only benefit for working at Wynn resorts Wynn / encore was the Farr lunch and getting paid to eat.

ConsBad management; leadership; micro-manage employees; want you to clock in exactly on time and clock out not a minute late; people are back stabbing.

Former Employee – worked at Wynn Resorts full-time for more than 3 years

ProsThe Company always focused on the staff. They were fully aware that without a great team, there was no Company so they made extra effort to see to the needs of it's employees.

ConsIt was very hard work but when you work under an umbrella of excellence, it is what it is. Expectations are high.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to listen to your staff for they are a great resource in aiding the continued growth of the hotel.

North Las Vegas, NV (US)

Former Employee – worked at Wynn Resorts

ProsBeautiful surroundings with an International brand recognition.

ConsLowest pay on the Strip
High degree of turn-around
No one knows whats going on
Great disconnect between management and their employees
Horrible vacation - one week per year, and you can't take it until you've been there one year.
Most people are there to get some experience and move on

Advice to Senior ManagementGiving people better pay and a better time off policy would be a good start. Mandating that all departments participate in the recognition programs would be nice too - they pump you up in orientation to believe that you'll be recognized for your hard work - not all departments do it or care.

ProsFantastic place to work, I love the environement. The executives really take a hands on approach to running the business. It almost seems like a "Mom and Pop joint".

ConsPay could be much better.

Advice to Senior ManagementPay should be increased. Better heath insurance and better 401K matching.

ProsLet's face it. It's "The Wynn Hotel" (and Encore). It has Marquee Value. But the "behind the scenes" is different (see below). However, it was a very good place to work in many respects, team-members were very good, and supervisors and mid-level managers were good to work for.

ConsPay is too low for a "World-Class Resort." Food is somewhat less stellar than it should be. Lots of little niggling paperwork issues. Overmuch concentration of process as opposed to results.

Advice to Senior ManagementI would like to see management listen to the front-line employees a little more.
