Fantastic 5-star company who cares for its employees.

Communications Supervisor (Current Employee)
Las Vegas, NV (US)

I have been working at Wynn Resorts full-time for more than 5 years

ProsSmall enough to make a difference.

ConsVery conservative in its views.

Advice to Senior ManagementMake sure compensation is equivalent or more than the current national averages. This is a five-star resort and to hire and keep the best of the best would and should require competitive salaries.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

old boy network

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Wynn Resorts

ProsThey offer decent pay and great projects

ConsUpper management is very old las Vegas, they take advantage of the company and promote others that do the same. Total lack of respect for anyone that thinks that what is good for the company is the best course of action, instead they choose what is best for them. As a resolute, the talent of the employees is spotty. Most managers are not equipped to run a company on the NYSE. The office politics is a vipers den. The vacation time is merger and it is not likely to change as executive management takes off whenever they feel like it.

Advice to Senior ManagementAdvise: reinterview each VP and determine if it is really the best person for the job. And then interview Their employees and see if it matches up. It could really be an amazing place that is innovative and a leader in the industry if they had the right people in the right jobs. it wouldn't hurt if HR did better background checks either

Not the worst place to work

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Las Vegas, NV (US)

I have been working at Wynn Resorts full-time for more than 3 years

ProsBeautiful resort, parking for employees isn't too horrible.
I like what I do and somehow manage to work around all the impossible paperwork and constantly changing policies to get my job done.

ConsUniforms in some departments are extraordinarily uncomfortable (actually painful) and make your job more difficult. No one seems to notice much less care. Management is all about keeping their job they do not care about their employees. Management shows up late, leaves early, takes long lunches, but there is no one monitoring them, ever. No sick days, they are completely inflexible with time off. Benefits have gotten worse and worse. Vision benefits are horrible, ironic? There is absolutely no advancement opportunities in most departments.

Advice to Senior ManagementYou need to stop worrying about being everyone's fake friend and start looking out for the best interest of the people that make your job easier. Work harder or at least as hard as your employees and you will increase moral immensely. I loved my job and then every day watching my bosses play favorites, walk in late, constantly put out fires they created has worn me down. I want to love my job again.

I worked at Wynn Resorts full-time for less than a year

ProsThe only benefit for working at Wynn resorts Wynn / encore was the Farr lunch and getting paid to eat.

ConsBad management; leadership; micro-manage employees; want you to clock in exactly on time and clock out not a minute late; people are back stabbing.

Wonderful atmosphere for learning excellence, customer service and enhancing skills.

Chef De Partie (Former Employee)

I worked at Wynn Resorts full-time for more than 3 years

ProsThe Company always focused on the staff. They were fully aware that without a great team, there was no Company so they made extra effort to see to the needs of it's employees.

ConsIt was very hard work but when you work under an umbrella of excellence, it is what it is. Expectations are high.

Advice to Senior ManagementContinue to listen to your staff for they are a great resource in aiding the continued growth of the hotel.

Pretty on the outside, ugly on the inside

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)
North Las Vegas, NV (US)

I worked at Wynn Resorts

ProsBeautiful surroundings with an International brand recognition.

ConsLowest pay on the Strip
High degree of turn-around
No one knows whats going on
Great disconnect between management and their employees
Horrible vacation - one week per year, and you can't take it until you've been there one year.
Most people are there to get some experience and move on

Advice to Senior ManagementGiving people better pay and a better time off policy would be a good start. Mandating that all departments participate in the recognition programs would be nice too - they pump you up in orientation to believe that you'll be recognized for your hard work - not all departments do it or care.
