I worked at Xerox full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Excellent long term vacation benefits.
Casual work environment.
Cons – Lack of visibility and growth. No conception of what quality work is and who does it. Impossible schedule typically slip, no one is responsbile. "Pay for performance" is a joke. Attempted to outsource most of the engineering functions (perhaps they realize they don't know how to manage engineering). Lack of vision and focus. The "core competencies" (mechanical engineering/optics) they eliminated to try to focus on their "core incompetency" software.
Advice to Senior Management – Probably unimportant, since Xerox wants to be a call center.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Xerox full-time for more than a year
Pros – Good work life balance and nice people
Cons – Limited growth opportunities. Merit increases are almost non-existent and a promotion is accompanied with minimal salary raise. Bonus only for top management.

I worked at Xerox full-time for less than a year
Pros – Company atmosphere on behalf of xerox was positive. Training was well done; trainers were very supportive and kept employees well informed. Tech Support Reps are open and willing to help you as well. Floor walkers were integral.
Cons – Sprint was not forthcoming about towers down to customers; created some difficult calls. Some supervisors are unwilling to do their job and have foul language, but the floorwalkers are great replacements.
Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend

I worked at Xerox full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Hard to come up with pros at this point - those who do still have a job on the technology (printing) side don't have to work too hard leaving ample time for activities outside of work or job hunting.
Cons – The promise of joining the legacy technology business to bpo outsourcing company ACS has been a disaster. Printing revenues are declining faster then jobs can be eliminated to reduce overhead and the low-skill, low wage work that ACS brings to the table can't sustain the employees of the combined companies.
Advice to Senior Management – Get Ursula out - the quicker the better.

I have been working at Xerox full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Can work with great group of people at work group level
Good work, life balance in most positions
Decent autonomy to accomplish work objectives
Cons – Management delusional about results
"Silo" approach to business creates atmosphere for poor decision making
Benefits continue to be eroded
Constant layoffs
Advice to Senior Management – Return to the values of Joe Wilson.
Start thinking about long term health instead of quarterly results.
Get executive pay in line with results
Realize that you actually have to value your employees, not just SAY that you do.

I have been working at Xerox full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Good work/life balance. Flexible work hours. Still decent pay for the area.. Good rank and file workers to work with.
Cons – Jobs constantly being outsourced overseas. Employees not valued by senior management. Benefits are horrible and get worse each year. No pay raise in years while senior management still get bonuses. If you want to stay in Rochester, you have to put up with it since between Kodak and Xerox layoffs, any company hiring is low balling possible employees. Constant squeeze on equipment. Moral is the lowest I have ever seen in any company. Processes keep becoming more and more covered in red tape, slowing work down. STEM based work is not valued compared to low end services such as call center work. Most new hires are contractors only, mostly of the contractors where people laid off and brought back years later at lower pay and no benefits. No training for moving into other skill areas.
Advice to Senior Management – The senior staff needs to be shaken up from the top down. They do not understand what they have in skills and instead spend more time trying to save a buck than make a buck. They also should look at what they have and retool/reuse it instead of shutting it down.

I worked at Xerox full-time
Pros – My co-workers were the best reason to go to work every day.
Cons – Corporate is no longer investing in technology, and my department was decimated with funding cuts and project cancellations. Managers at my site were hopelessly trying to deal with what corporate gave them.
