I have been working at Xerox full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Nice laid-back environment, quite family-like. Nice starting point.

    Cons

Low rarely updated salaries, no benefits whatsoever (no health-care, no pension scheme, no paid or half-paid canteen), always looking for new ideas for cutting expenses, no possibility to progress in a different role.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus less in cutting expenses and short term plans, invest more in your employees and in the quality of your products and services. Be more "long-term oriented"

I worked at Xerox full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

great training - 6 weeks initial on-board sales training, peak sales/product training sessions every month, quarterly product demo certifications required from employees
good culture/values - when I first was hired there (2008) it was very good. Xerox would allow team events, fundraising events, work parties, etc...my last year there, the culture changed for the worse as many employees quit and team/company events were reduced.
good benefits - when I was first hired, Xerox offered all full-time employees a pension plan. Now that no longer exists. Other benefits they offer are average (medical, dental, RRSP)

    Cons

doesn't pay very well (low base pay and commission) - only received one raise while working there for almost 6 years, despite being one of the better performers there.
not too many opportunities for advancement.
Job security - the Xerox local centre basically restructured their entire inside sales force in 2013 and laid off most of their workforce.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

increase the base salary and/or compensation, focus on how to better develop employees for career advancement. Offer better job security.

I have been working at Xerox full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people to work with. Also great customers. Love my job and it is a good company with some archaic infrastructure that is in desperate need of an overhaul.

    Cons

Industry is declining rapidly and competitors are giving away equipment and maintenance at less than half the cost of Xerox. In bidding wars Xerox is not very willing to budge without an act of congress. Internal processes get in the way of success and comp plan provides for charge backs and sales reversals which are very demotivating.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Once commission is paid don't take it back in the form of cancels. Losing to the competition is our penalty. Cancels are the companies fault for not bending on pricing and having nothing to do with the ability of the salesperson. Xerox is slowly leaching away footprint to the competition with rigid pricing requirements.

I have been working at Xerox full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

They pay more than the competition. Everyday at work is completely different than the day before. They provide modest transportation to do the job.

    Cons

The company is shifting to third party service in many states which do not pay as much to the employee. In addition the third party benefits packages are twice as expensive. The company is not actively backfilling the retiring employees positions. Many employees feel like they will be let go from the company for lack of machines to work on.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The company should be up front on the direction of the business.

I have been working at Xerox

    Pros

The environment is laid back. There is room to grow in the company and opportunity to make more than the base rate.

    Cons

Low pay and inconsistent work hours at times due to mandatory hours during peak times for the company.
