Former Employee – worked at Xerox UK full-time
Pros – Great people, helpful and experienced
Cons – Low salary and lot of red tape

Former Employee – worked at Xerox UK full-time for less than a year
Pros – Friendly long-serving employees from better times at Xerox
Cons – Company lacks the family feel with lack of leadership leaving staff to paddle their own canoes. IT Projects face a wall of heavy 'waterfall' bureacracy and powerpoint culture, while many other companys are moving to agile methods and less bureacracy. Offices are aged and/or cramped in Uxbridge. US noticeably better staff resourced than EU which is cut to the bone (marrow).
Advice to Senior Management – Too many long service yes men in middle management, typical of old corporations.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Former Employee – worked at Xerox UK as an intern for more than a year
Pros – Supportive team who tries their best to give you a better understanding of UK tax
They understand you are on placement and don't expect you to work more then your contract hours
You get direct involvement and responsibility with tax compliance work
Cons – Dull working atosphere, everyone is very focused on their laptops throughout the day
No clear direction in terms of development/progression
Many of the tasks were generally quite repetitive without much variation or challenges
At times, the managers struggle to find enough work for you

Former Employee – worked at Xerox UK full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Company pay was reasonable but people who had been there in the good years where getting paid better for the same job. Enjoyed the people I worked and it is a pleasant place to work.
Cons – Stuck in the past which has been said before, I had a customer facing role and the company issued phone was Nokia 3310. Not much work life balance, culture of work through lunch and after hours with no overtime reward or time in lieu. Very little communication outside your region of work so you could possibly be working on a similar project/ account as someone in the same country let alone globally so not much knowledge sharing. Lack of direction in the past few years who knows where the company is heading. All training cut back to almost nothing in past 2 years.
Advice to Senior Management – To much middle management and dead wood. Need to start walking the talk when it comes to technology.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Former Employee – worked at Xerox UK full-time for less than a year
Pros – Canteen
Some really nice people - usually newbies like I was. Or 3rd party providers
Cons – Old fashioned approach to work
Lack of vision, strategy, energy
No desire to change
People have been there too long and know nothing else so fresh ideas or new company direction is impossible to foster
People hide from work
Meetings galore with no real outcomes or actions
Lacklustre management - don't invoke confidence
Questionable skill sets - some management have no clue and demonstrate their lack of knowledge with alarming confidence
Some people are utterly inert
Old timers don't share their knowledge
Advice to Senior Management – A new broom sweeps clean. Get rid of the dead wood and get into the 21st century before your competitors eclipse you

Current Employee – been working at Xerox UK
Pros – Any job is better than no job. If you prefer to flannel, spend time waffling in meetings and coast you may well get away with it as the company doesn't seem to have the ability to distinguish between the talented and the incompetent.
Cons – Doesn't seem to support staff with services, facilities, up-to-date equipment, career development or financial recognition and promotion for good work.

Former Employee – worked at Xerox UK
Pros – Good benefits, good development, friend and collegiate, flexible approach, good management processes. It is a relatively fair and benevolent environment and one can get away adding no real value but still get paid every month.
Cons – Very insular culture with minimal change and improvement over last 5 years, is not open to new ideas, cronyism at senior levels is rife, salaries in lowest quartile, very political environment and no cooperation between business units.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to put some of the old boys out to pasture, bring in some new talent from competitors, shift resources to the front-line, empower people to make decisions.
