Position Summary

As a Senior Software Architect, you will drive the development of our Web, Facebook and embedded offerings. You will get to work closely with the founders of the company and build a consumer application that will be used by millions of users.

About You
We are looking for talented and passionate engineers who thrive in an entrepreneurial setting. As an early employee at Mertado, you will have a chance to make a significant impact on both the company and the next generation of e-commerce solutions. To accomplish that, you must not only be able to write software but also have the potential and ambition to grow into a technology leader. You must have an interest in things that are not strictly within the technical realm, e.g. caring about building a great user experience, or being capable of handling anything that comes up.
Key Requirements
  • Expertise building scalable systems and algorithms
  • Expertise in working with PHP and MySQL (LAMP)
  • Well versed with Python
  • Familiar with MongoDB
  • Understanding of AJAX, CSS, JavaScript & jQuery
  • Experience working with large amounts of data and Amazon Web Services a plus
  • Experience working with Facebook or E-Commerce applications a plus
  • BA/BS in CS, EE, or equivalent education experience
  • 3+ years software development experience
  • Strong product sense and an interest in building web applications
  • Entrepreneurial spirit
  • High levels of creativity
