Job Description

The VP of Sales is a SaaS sales position responsible for generating and closing new opportunities for Hadoop-as-a-Service. We are looking for our first Sales person -- a motivated, focused, high-impact professional with experience across the full spectrum of the software sales cycle. This is a critical role for the success of VertiCloud and its Big Data platform.
Responsibilities:

  • Define and implement a winning sales strategy to address the Hadoop Software-as-a-Service market
  • Develop a deep understanding of and effectively articulate the VertiCloud offering and value proposition
  • Generate new sales opportunities and manage potential customers from initial target to closure
  • Build a robust sales pipeline and reporting framework to drive company success
  • Meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue objectives as you build the next great company from the ground up
  • Skills & Requirements:
  • Track record of success in closing SaaS sales
  • Experience working with enterprise technology providers including a base technical understanding of the Software-as-a-Service model, big data and data analytics
  • Ability to establish, manage and maintain trusted relationships with senior business leaders
  • Ability to meet and exceed customer expectations and maintain high customer satisfaction
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, financial and organizational capability
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work at both a tactical and strategic level
  • Ability to thrive in an evolving, entrepreneurial structure and environment
  • 10+ years of sales experience in a sales role in the technology sector; combination of startup AND large company experience highly preferred
