The VP of Sales is a SaaS sales position responsible for generating and closing new opportunities for Hadoop-as-a-Service. We are looking for our first Sales person -- a motivated, focused, high-impact professional with experience across the full spectrum of the software sales cycle. This is a critical role for the success of VertiCloud and its Big Data platform.
Responsibilities:
Define and implement a winning sales strategy to address the Hadoop Software-as-a-Service market Develop a deep understanding of and effectively articulate the VertiCloud offering and value proposition Generate new sales opportunities and manage potential customers from initial target to closure Build a robust sales pipeline and reporting framework to drive company success Meet and exceed quarterly and annual revenue objectives as you build the next great company from the ground up Skills & Requirements: Track record of success in closing SaaS sales Experience working with enterprise technology providers including a base technical understanding of the Software-as-a-Service model, big data and data analytics Ability to establish, manage and maintain trusted relationships with senior business leaders Ability to meet and exceed customer expectations and maintain high customer satisfaction Excellent negotiation, analytical, financial and organizational capability Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Ability to work at both a tactical and strategic level Ability to thrive in an evolving, entrepreneurial structure and environment 10+ years of sales experience in a sales role in the technology sector; combination of startup AND large company experience highly preferred
