    You need a sick note from doctors to get sick pay after one week off, for the odd sick absences without sick notes, it does go towards your absence and if it's more than 3 days within a certain period, it can leave you with verbal or written warnings.

    You receive sick pay from day 1 (no waiting days), and you get full basic pay for up to 6 months. Your sickness absence is reviewed every 6 months and can result in you being "more closely monitored" or even investigated, if you are off too much.
