You need a sick note from doctors to get sick pay after one week off, for the odd sick absences without sick notes, it does go towards your absence and if it's more than 3 days within a certain period, it can leave you with verbal or written warnings.
You get full sick pay after a first week of self certified unpaid work. A sick note is required.
It allows me to gain what I earn even if I am sick.
you have to be sick for more than 3 days to be acceptable for the sick pay and you need to have a doctors letter or something

I never had time off sick so can’t comment on how good the sick pay was but it was available
After so long working there you get 12 weeks full sick pay before ssp
it is not much you get if you go sick and it is very less what you earn in a week .
You receive sick pay from day 1 (no waiting days), and you get full basic pay for up to 6 months. Your sickness absence is reviewed every 6 months and can result in you being "more closely monitored" or even investigated, if you are off too much.
Decent cover, although I am not sure about this now.
