“Able to take days off or half days or coming in between the hours of 8-10am”
Bristol City Council offers many great benefits - from the generous public sector pension scheme to the flexible working options available in most roles.
Great Pensions scheme Good annual Leave Sickness pay flexible working hours Supportive team and management rewarding work Discounted gym pass at all everyone active gyms
The pension is the best thing along with being able to buy annual leave. The worst is flexible working as its just not utilised in my role unfortunately.
The best thing about working at the city council is the flexi hours you get. You do not get paid for overtime hours however if you accumulate up to 7hrs you are able to take half of thos hours and take half the day off or use all the 7hrs and take a day off. You are allowed to take at least 2 days off a month from flexi hours
Flexitime and home working are excellent benefits that really make a difference to home/work life balance
Standard Local government pension scheme. Holiday increase after 5 years service. You can get things like: buses and fuel and trains paid for but the paper work is a night mare and can take up to a year so no point.
They offer discounted services available to BCC employees.
They were very flexible with working hours. You could decide what time you wanted to start work, and how long you took for lunch. They also offered flexi time, which is a great incentive for building up hours in order to take extra days off work.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
