Senior staff members were extremely understanding of other commitments if you needed to move shifts around. So long as you worked your contracted hours or alternatively booked holiday time, they were very helpful in fitting shifts around you.

Working from home a common practice however this depends on the team and line manager. Also flexible desks and working in quiet and "easy to think" spaces in the building. Not seen flexible working as good as this except Google.
