Friday accomplishments: I have finally made a 401(k) contribution this year!! I know this sounds trivial, but it took a month to figure out how to fill out all the forms, get all the bank routing correct, and then finally stay on hold with Fidelity for an hour for them to transfer the money for me.
Personal Investment Chatter
My taxable brokerage account with fidelity is a bit all over the place (lots of different funds). I want to simplify things and do some sort of 3 fund portfolio. Any recommendations of what to do here? I’d prefer not to trigger a taxable event but if that’s the best option I can do so.
FIRE Financial Independence Retire Early
I'm switching jobs and considering whether I want to roll over my 401(k). I have about $220k in my plan. Considering rolling it into an existing Fidelity IRA with a balance of about $50k. Since October of 2020, I've paid about $880 in "plan administrative fees" to my 401(k) provider as well as the fund expense ratios. It looks like Fidelity does not charge administrative fees on IRA accounts, so that seems to make it a no brainer, plus the investment options are much broader. What am I missing?
The Best is the Health insurance you get after working there for 6 months, The worst is the fact even though the food is subsidized, its still expensive and they should offer free lunches as its a very remote area.
best thing was the employer contribution to pension plan. this was better than average, and well above industry standard.
Good good good is that 20 words yet or as i have to do so much more benefits were excellent one of the best ever really really good.
Average compensation. Can get better in other places like JP Morgan and Barclays
Payment free parking and subsidised food
