Career Advice for Students
I am very close to graduating from “Facebook Marketing Analytics” from Google certificates. I am trying to apply to many “marketing assistant” jobs but have been rejected all of them. How could I prove to them I know what I’m doing? On my résumé I have all my marketing history, I have 3+ years experience with Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Shopify, etc. can someone give me advice?
For someone with 4 YOE in ad sales at Google, what kind of comp could they get externally at other tech firms ? Let’s say OTE at G is ~250k (with stock) as an L4 Account Executive. Any insight on places like Facebook (Meta) , Spotify ,Snap Inc. or LinkedIn, Amazon ? Thanks in advance :)
Whoever the mod is of this bowl should create a survey linked to a spreadsheet with a report function for people to enter comp in. We have one internally at Google and its a tremendous tool, feel like that would help a LOT of people out here rather than asking every other day. Granted its on us to not scumbag our answers, but being able to drill down on things like: Company Industry Title YoE Advanced Degree (Y/N) A TC field w/ base, bonus, and equity
Anyone else accidentally fall into a career path they’re not happy with? Did you stay in that career or change it? For me, I was so excited to work at Google after college that I quit running my own company where I was focusing more on product management work, to become a recruiter (non tech degree). After 4 years, I’m now a recruiting lead but feel so stuck and discouraged about starting over. I feel like if I stay where I am, I’ll be a director in 2 years, but I’m not sure if it’s worth it
Anybody here interviewed with the NFL before? Recruiter reached out for a PM role and it seems like a really cool overall gig. Curious about how working there is, comp, wlb etc. Google is obviously great, but the work there is super interesting to me as i've been a lifelong football fan.

Wishing good luck to a mangers first day back at Google tomorrow. He was accused of sexual harassment and retaliation. Four separate witness accounts from women AND men. The company felt a verbal warning was all he needed (which frankly validates the accusations). Sounds like 2022 is in his favor! How many more stories like this need to happen before the company takes it seriously?!
