Low pay and good work life balance
Flexi-Time is the best or the worst thing about the benefits package at Home Office Asylum Operation in Croydon, Greater London
not great. pension ok and leave entitlement ok after 5-10 years
Pension is OK. Overtime is offered sometimes at bank Holidays and weekend if there is the work available. They have a reward and recognition budget but hardly anyone gets anything from it. Generally okay pay. Can get free eye tests if you use a VDU and some money towards glasses, also entitled to a blue light card which gets you discounts on various things. Get 5 days a year paid leave to volunteer. On sight gym and canteen.
PRO - Excellent Training and working with like minded hard working and committed colleagues. CON - Below average remuneration package, IT skills not recognised, no real career path.
There wasn't any useful benefits, I think they still think that getting a job in the public sector is a kudos so you should be grateful.
Worked as a a contractor so no pension or defined benefits. Was supplied with HO Blackberry and laptop, flexible working no issue.
Tend to pay relatively well however due to civil service cuts no prospects of pay rises anove 1% anytime soon
