You are allowed up to one-day sick leave. After that, a doctors note is needed.
Sick pay covers you fully for a couple of month, after that it declines.
The sick pay is pretty fair but you may need to provide sufficient doctor references every a few days or need to go through certain procedures/doctor's review as specified by the company, so that your sickness can be justified.
They are fairly good with this but it depends on your manager and whether you are a good employee or not

For a genuinely sick person, the company shall not add to the burden. There is also the ability to work remotely if the situation requires it.
