Good brill awesome fab amazing
Decent holidays 28 days a year. Free food on shifts over 6 hours. Usually always have hours available for overtime
Discount, free food and a drink during break, holiday pay, bonus
the best thing is the staff discount on food hotels and drink the worst thing is that they only allow shift leaders and above free food when it should in actuality be all staff are allowed one free meal and you end up spending lots of time at work and even more time paying for food from work.
Staff discount, bonus at the end of the month, free food and drink if you agree to help out at the last minute
Free meals over 6hr shifts from a very small selective menu meanwhile managers can eat whatever they want whenever they want. A lot of booked holidays don't get approved even with months of notice. 50% off discount, but managers don't like it when you use it for someone else and will refuse to give it to you sometimes - it's all down to the manager on shift whether they give it to you or not. (Also a lot of pubs will refuse to serve alcohol to the employees even with no shift the next day). It's really luck of the draw.
Friendly Co-workers and flexible hours; the work was fairly mundane but not depressing or completely dull
Didn't work there long enough to experience any significant employee benefits such as pension package or company shares. main benefit I had was 50% food discount in shifts and 20% food discount off shifts.
Best thing with working at spoons is the friends you make (especially if you work at a spoons in a student city like Manchester). When I worked at spoons, most of the staff were students so we had a lot in common. Also you can get a meal and a drink for about £4 on your break due to the 50% on-shift staff discount.
Staff receive a 50% discount whilst working on shift, and a 20% discount for you and 3 others when not on shift, this covers both food and drinks. There are also bonus schemes run that are available via the results of good internal audits, this incentivises the whole of the work staff to perform well.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
