This isn't relevant to me, but it sounds like it is the uk standard. It would be impressive if it was any more unfortunately. A lot of women work for RI so they would garner a great deal of respect for offering an above average maternity package.
Maternity leave given for a length of time
no pay is offered for the duration of the leave. but your position is still available after. to my knowledge it is only maternity and not paternity leave that is available
Never entered it myself but my manager last year fell pregnant. She was still expected to work longer days over xmas and do late nights, she also received no support or care from our area manager. Her wages on maternity leave are considerably less than her salary was and she is now struggling to live.
