Lovely to work for, heard and supported
Good pension contributions. Good holiday entitlement. No negatives
Zero hours contract good for university students. Apply for jobs only when able to complete shifts. The pay is above national living wage. Everyone student is paid the same no matter of age. Holiday pay included in overall pay. Perks while working but no outside additional benefits.
Student benefits include access to the library and nationally renowned Sportspark as well as fantastic lecturers and seminar leaders.
It was not an extensive package as one would be expecting an internship to be a temporary phase of a job seeker's quest for a good and stable package, however this internship was a a two month internship with a one-off payment
As an associate tutor these are fairly not part of the package as you are employed part time. You are only entitled to a limited amount of benefits.
Not applicable as I was on a zero hour contract and didn't have any benefits. Payment was appropriate for the work done
Much like most universities grad students and temporary staff such as postdocs do not get the full benefits package. This is a shameful practice amongst universities in general. UEA is simply following a trend and that does not make their choices any less acceptable in this regard.
The subsidised travel arrangements are superb.
Very strong benefits package, especially for the region, although navigating family leave is a bit of a joke as there is little useful guidance through the process.
List based on reports from current and former employees. It may not be complete.
