Basic is 23 days + 4 days over Christmas + bank holidays. Fairly average if not slightly lower than the norm in the private sector. Higher grades (6 and above) get more leave, as do academic members of staff.

It is relatively easy to arrange a holiday when you want it so long as you ask for it in advance.

Generous allowance. For lower grades this increase in line with length of service up to 29 days per year, for grade 6 and above there is 30 day leave allowance (for support staff - academic staff leave is different). In addition there are bank holidays and the closure days between Christmas and New Year. Good policy on leave for bereavement, child care etc.
