The best thing about working for UofM was that they were very flexible about what you were doing with your time. They trusted you to just get on with all of your tasks.
I get a certificate at the end. It is IMechE certified. There is no funding cuts to my department. Good experience opportunities.
Standard for the research industry
Apart from working from home there were no real benefits from this work. Sadly no useful training courses for further career development
Pension used to be excellent (final salary), now still very attractive. Holiday is above average.
There are some vouchers for discounts from certain retailers, e.g. Not much to offer really. Rarely used. Once in a few years maybe.
There are enough funding for you to go to conferences or training.
Generally very good - I know that it is depending a lot on the type of supervisors you get, great student support and fundings for travel awards
It really depends what position you have, but for researchers the best is the posibility to do a lot of networking to help your career
Benefit scheme is quite good. However problem starts when the employee is pregnant. The company does not give appropriate support.
