What is the best or worst thing about the benefits package at University of Manchester it is
Best is a lot of support for learning and development is available via online e learning and classroom workshops. Worst would be the discounted benefits are not great
Networking is the best thing that happens to you. Work pressure is the worst. If you want to achieve something out of this university, you don't just study, but work with in university on something related to your field, keep an eye for work related opportunists in general, and exceed expectations.
The best thing about working for UofM was that they were very flexible about what you were doing with your time. They trusted you to just get on with all of your tasks.
I get a certificate at the end. It is IMechE certified. There is no funding cuts to my department. Good experience opportunities.
Standard for the research industry
Apart from working from home there were no real benefits from this work. Sadly no useful training courses for further career development
Pension used to be excellent (final salary), now still very attractive. Holiday is above average.
There are some vouchers for discounts from certain retailers, e.g. Not much to offer really. Rarely used. Once in a few years maybe.
There are enough funding for you to go to conferences or training.
