Good once you have been with a company long enough
Good standard rate of pay for sickness covered by letter from doctor
They count up the number of separate absences to determine whether to pay sick pay. This is NOT the total days off - it's the number of absences - even a few hours that were made back with extra duty
It exists from start of work
Brilliant company support all around.
Best thing is that it's no one blinks an eye if you need a sick day. Worst thing is that the company policy is 3 sick periods per year, it's at your managers discretion but this could be challenging if someone is often ill. Obviously if you've an ongoing health issue this is managed separately and I've found Boots to be very supportive.
The rules are never made clear to you so when you are off sick you never know if you will get paid
Increases with years of service. They care.
You are never sure what you are going to be paid or for how long. There are deductions on your pay slip called offset, which go towards sick pay. Your company makes you ill by over-working you and then docks your pay for it.
The sick pay is same as your monthly salary which is good but I think this is the basic for every company!!
