The day to day in the office is great. you feel supported by WCG in that they help you do your work instead of getting in your way.
Private Health Insurance is the main benefit. Pension is just the minimum contribution. Leave is slightly above the minimum and you get a couple of extra days after 4 years but tops out at 25 days.
The holiday days as a new starter is bare minimum of 23 days but this does go up after 3 years to 25. You have to wait until after your probation to get private healthcare and if you are a woman, the maternity pay is the government minimum (6 weeks at 90% then statutory). They offer a potential bonus but they will take it away even if you have a good annual review with no explanation. The upside is that the salary isn't too bad in comparison to local companies.
The health insurance includes dental and optical and it is overall a great health insurance option. The worst thing must be that the company does not back employees who are under probation - you get 0 benefits, including no sick leave whilst on probation.
Technical Account Manager
Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?
Reasonable base salary but pretty poor benefits, has essentials but nothing outstanding and just minimum pension offering as required by law. Talk of benefits being addressed and enhanced in the near future so watch this space.
limited flexibility with holiday time off and working from home flexibility (new baby recently arrived). HAD to work from the office even when work content could have been easily done from home.
There is an annual review and the salary increases every year assuming the review shows you are increasing your knowledge. Some get bonuses dependant on factors.
White Clarke offers loads of benefits that employees can use. I use the private healthcare offering with Vitality where you can earn points and get discounts in certain shops etc. I have not yet used the cycle to work scheme but am thinking about getting a bike because it's a great offer. The longer you work for the company the more holidays you get. That's really good. My manager is flexible towards working from home or flexible working hours in case I have a doctors appointment or a home delivery. I think the company's benefits are very generous!
The cycle to work scheme is helping to keep my new years resolution to get fit.
