KFC rules the roost when it comes to serving chicken. One of the world's largest fast-food chains, the company owns and franchises more than 16,200 outlets in about 100 countries. (More than 5,100 locations are in the US.) The restaurants offer the Colonel's trademark fried chicken (in both Original Recipe and Extra Crispy varieties) along with chicken sandwiches, chicken pot pies, crispy chicken strips, mashed potatoes and gravy, and potato wedges. Its locations can be found operating as free-standing units and kiosks in high-traffic areas. More than 25% of the restaurants are company-operated. KFC is a unit of fast-food franchisor YUM! Brands, which also operates Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
We are one of the country’s largest employers, with around 66,000 people working across the UK. Our purpose is to collect the money that pays for the UK’s public services and give financial support to people who need it. We are responsible for calculating and collecting taxes and duties paid by more than 50 million people and more than 5 million businesses. The tax we collect is vital. It funds schools and hospitals, builds roads and infrastructure and supports communities and the economy – so we need everyone to pay the tax that is legally due, no matter who they are. In addition, we pay and administer Child Benefit, Tax-Free Childcare, statutory pay and tax credits. We protect our citizens, for example, through enforcing the National Minimum Wage and Living Wage and we help keep our borders safe and ensure that trade flows smoothly in and out of the country.
McDonald’s is proud to be one of the most recognized brands in the world, with restaurants in over 100 countries and billions of customers served each year. As the global leader in the food service industry, we have a legacy of innovation and hard work that continues to drive us. Today, we are growing with velocity and are focused on modernizing our experiences, not to make a different McDonald’s but to build a better McDonald’s. About 80% of the restaurants are run by franchisees or affiliates.

We’re also: - the UK’s number 1 funeral services provider - a major general insurer - a growing legal services business As well as having clear financial and operational objectives and employing nearly 70,000 people, we’re a recognised leader for our social goals and community-led programmes. We exist to meet members' needs and stand up for the things they believe in. So, the more successful we are, the more we can give back to you and your local community. That's why we're different.
What on earth is Pret? Pret operates a bit like a restaurant. We build kitchens in (or very near) every shop. You won’t find ‘sell-by’ dates on our fresh sandwiches and salads. Our milk and coffee is 100% organic. We offer our unsold food to charity at the end of each day rather than keeping it to sell the next day. Doing the right thing…naturally In 1986, Pret opened the doors of its very first shop. A shop with a mission. A mission to create, handmade, natural food, avoiding the obscure chemicals, additives and preservatives common to so much of the ‘prepared’ and ‘fast’ food on the market today. Pret Today In the last 30 years, we’ve continued to grow cautiously. Today, we have over 350 Prets worldwide with shops in the UK, USA, Paris, Hong Kong and Shanghai. We serve more than 300,000 customers every day, all of them looking to enjoy our fresh, healthy menu.
Whole Foods was founded on the belief that where food comes from, and how it’s grown, matters. It meant creating quality standards, working with suppliers who achieve them, and sharing that information with our customers. And it radically changed the way people understood and shopped for food. The result has been the highest quality natural and organic products; an unmatched experience in more than 500 stores with a passionate team of over 90,000 Team Members; three foundations that focus on improving the livelihoods of communities on a local and global scale; and millions of customers who put their trust in us every day. Since day one, we’ve been dedicated to building the best workplace for all 90,000+ of our Team Members. When you work at Whole Foods, we take care of you. In 1985, Travelodge became Britain’s first value hotel brand when it launched in the UK, opening its first hotel at Barton under Needwood in the heart of England. Since those early days, Travelodge has gone from strength to strength. It is now the UK’s largest independent hotel brand, with more than 580 hotels and 40,000 guest bedrooms, right across the UK as well as in Ireland and Spain. You’ll find our hotels in the centre of major cities, including London, Edinburgh, Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham, Belfast, Dublin, Barcelona, and Madrid; in most of Britain’s larger towns, as well as in the classic seaside locations and vital roadside stops. More than 190 of our hotels have our on-site Bar Café restaurant, and almost all are located close to other restaurants and coffee shops, making Travelodge the ideal base for travel. We continue to expand, with 13 new hotels expected to open in 2020 and further locations identified for expansion. More than 11,000 Travelodge colleagues work together to look after our customers each day. We offer a wide range of roles, including front-line guest service positions, construction and maintenance teams and a range of positions in our support centre. With a mix of full-time and part-time roles, we are an ideal employment choice for people who are looking to build their careers in hospitality, or fit work around other commitments, including working parents, students and people looking for a second career later in life. All new team members undergo an induction programme to support them in being successful in their role and further training is made available for all team members to progress and advance their careers. Over more than thirty years, we have helped thousands of people grow their careers and make the journey from entry-level jobs to management positions. Our management development programme, ‘Aspire’ is central to our approach, helping candidates secure externally recognised qualifications as well as practical management skills. We currently have many colleagues studying towards apprenticeship and management qualifications, as well as other colleagues developing through professional qualifications and on the job training. Travelodge recognises the benefits of having a diverse workforce with different backgrounds and experiences, solely employed on ability and it supports this belief with clear policies on equality and diversity and a track record of strong representation at all levels from people of all backgrounds. Travelodge monitors the diversity of job applicants, as well as the composition of our existing workforce by each protected characteristic in order to support a culture of equality, diversity and inclusion. We remain committed to evolving our approach to ensure it is embedded as a way of life across the organisation.
