What does a Music & Production do?
Music producers are responsible for a broad range of tasks related to overseeing a musical project or music-related programming. They handle administrative matters such as budgeting, authorizing invoices, coordinating vendors and contractors, and negotiating and approving contracts. They also have an active role in the development and creation of the material itself, such as by refining the concept, assisting with writing or editing, and executing or supervising recording and production activities. They are often responsible for hiring and managing talent and staff members.
Music producers typically have a bachelor’s degree and a background in music or creative production. They should have in-depth experience involving the coordination of music programs or media projects. A track record of hands-on involvement with editing and recording equipment, programs, and tools is an advantage.
