What does a Sourcer do?

Sourcers hire candidates in highly technical and specialized positions. They are members of the human resources team who create candidate funnels for positions that prove challenging to fill. Sourcers interact with potential candidates and develop talent pipelines. They conduct initial candidate screenings and are responsible for setting up interviews. Sourcers manage a candidate database, record hiring conversion rates, and coordinate with hiring managers to determine a position’s requirements. They compose and send recruitment correspondence including emails and interact with potential candidates on professional networks and social media.

Sourcers also contact industry partners for candidate referrals, and they organize and conduct interviews. They create talent pipelines for current and future hiring prospects and manage the company's candidate database. They are responsible for scheduling candidate interviews with hiring managers and the measurement and recording of conversion rates. Sourcers need a minimum bachelor's degree in human resources management or related fields.
