What does a Technology Specialist II do?
Technology specialists provide support services for technological systems, programs, and networks. They oversee the implementation, configuration, updating, and maintenance of IT systems and components. In some organizations, they may also perform sales duties, promoting certain technology products or services. They often serve as an internal subject matter expert providing knowledge and advice related to specific technological products or issues. They may be responsible for developing and administering training programs, and for creating help guides and other tech-related materials.
Technology specialists typically have a bachelor’s degree in a computer science discipline, and a background in tech support or hardware repair. They should have hands-on experience installing and maintaining a range of computer systems and programs. These roles require good communication skills, and the ability to explain technical information in an easy-to-understand way.
- Lead staff in the development of relationships, opportunities, and proposals.

- Participate in tender process, i.e. design, submission, and review.
- Interact with and provide technical and event support for faculty, staff, students, and guests of the college.
- Manage scope risks, establish and execute scope specific recovery plans when required.
- Manage continuous improvement of the inspection technologies, gage control processes and policies.
- Lead trainings with marketing capabilities teams to help keep KDP marketers on the forefront of what is new and coming.
- Build and maintain the emerging technology and media strategy.
- Build an evolving testing roadmap to establish which tests will be executed, including an understanding of budgets needed for all testing.
- Explain specifically how changes in competitors, clients, and market segments affect own business or institution.
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in business, computer science, engineering or information technology, or equivalent experience.
- Experience as a consultant.
- Experience with Jira, Cloud, and other applicable software and systems.
- Comfortable with computing and user documentation processes.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and time management capabilities.
- Able to use confidence when conducting critical thinking exercises.
- Can participate in Agile ceremonies including daily scrums.
- Comfortable functioning in a leadership position.
