Former Employee - CSM

I worked at Benefitfocus full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

It is fairly easy to get a job here. If you are looking for experience from a larger organization to then take with you to other employees, give it a go. There is a good chance it will be sold soon..., so perhaps another reorg/leadership team will have go at it.

Cons

Expectations. The main issue here is that everything is on fire at any given time so management hires a ton of people to put out the fire without every properly communicating long term expectations.... They have zero direction with your individual career growth. No worries, they will throw a number after your title to make you feel like you are moving up the ranks. All it truly will mean is that you are getting more volume of work. Pay attention to what you are learning and having to manage (well outside of your current role) and write down on your resume!!

Advice to Management

Rethink who you are putting in charge. Discouraged employees lead to poor customer care, lead to poor stock prices and terrible reactionary investments...please revisit business 101.

I worked at Total Quality Logistics

Pros

Great open sales floor, high energy environment, competitive, go getters, very charitable company

Cons

Long work days, high stress, no work life balance, pay isn't great

Advice to Management

Pay your sales employees more in base pay. 35,000 isn't competitive anymore
