Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at CAE full-time

Pros

flexible, travel, good salary, nice organisation

Cons

I currently have no issues

Current Employee - Service Desk Technical Analyst

I have been working at CGI full-time for more than a year

Pros

Very good training, excellent benefits, very passionate and friendly co-workers, fast progression, very manageable workload, KPIs aren't the end of the world with more of a focus on ticket... resolutions. Overall, yes it can be gruelling on the Service Desk at times but from the sounds of it it's much, much better than it is at other companies . You will be tested at times but if you put in your 9 months (I put in 10) on the Service Desk there is a massive amount of progression into basically any IT related job you can think of (and whilst Service Desk can be hard, it gets much, much better once you move away from Service Desk).

Cons

Low pay for equivalent roles at other companies, work/life balance can fall out of sync at times, potential mismanagement (very dependent on the team you're assigned to, some teams are managed... amazingly, some not so much), at the end of the day you're still a pawn in the larger corporate structure.

Advice to Management

No complaints on a general level but there are certainly people you will work with who may not be suitable for working there. Generally found the higher you go up the chain, the more friendly and... understanding management becomes (which is certainly quite different to other companies).
