Featured Review

Former Employee - Sales Representative

I worked at Hapag-Lloyd full-time for more than a year

Pros

Senior management great, international orientation perfect and a great long term vision

Cons

The German culture is very dominant, nevertheless a great company to work for!

Current Employee - Sales/Marketing

I have been working at Hamburg Süd full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

Strong in reefer and perishable commodities, North to South trades with focus on personal and friendly customer service. Great colleagues and good personal benefits package.

Cons

Sometimes lacks management direction and the business model does not always work for a global strategy when each area is left to focus on their own strengths rather than the group as a whole.

Advice to Management

Better structure at senior management level is required to link between the board and country managers in order to implement clear business strategies which will work as a whole rather than each... country focusing only on it's export volumes.
