I worked at ITV full-time
Pros
I worked within ITV Creative so can only talk about this department specifically, but overall a lovely group of people, lots of collaboration, manageable work-streams and support from senior... management when needed. Also one of the best companies I’ve experienced for work / life balance - as well as lots of opportunities along the way to get involved with other areas outside of the job role (which was always a choice). For full-time employees the company also offers a bonus scheme which is great. Overall a great place to work and would definitely recommend joining the company if you’re ready to settle into a role for a number of years. A majority of people who leave end up returning, so testament to the company, department and people.
Cons
Quite difficult to get promoted. With more opportunities to progress I doubt people would leave. Culture’s also taken a knock after covid and a majority of colleagues would rather work from home... which is a shame. It would be great if the company organised more social events / allocated money for departmental gatherings as a way to reintegrate people. I was fortunate to have joined before covid but can imagine it’s quite hard for new-starters to settle in for the first few months.
Advice to Management
A structure that offers more opportunities to advance.
I have been working at YouView full-time for more than a year
Pros
Knowledgeable team members to learn from. Regularly challenged in my role. Friendly atmosphere whether working remotely, hybrid or in the office.
Cons
More structure in 1:1s with managers would be helpful.
Advice to Management
Structured process around feedback could be useful.
