I have been working at Ingenious full-time for more than 5 years
Let me start by saying that Ingenious isn't for everyone. If you want to be an employee who is just a number in a team and not recognised throughout the business then move on.
Ingenious is still... privately owned, and this brings with it a smaller, entrepreneurial type feeling that isn't available within larger corporate environments. The CEO knows the majority of people by name, and always makes an effort to engage with employees of all levels- even if it is to say hello whilst making a coffee.
This entrepreneurial experience doesn't end with the "feeling". It's ingrained throughout and means that if an employee has any ideas or suggestions, they can voice these and they will be heard. It's a great opportunity for younger employees who would never have this chance in larger organisations.
If you work hard and produce results you will be recognised, however you need to ensure you are focusing your efforts in an area that the business needs help with. Help the business to succeed and you will be rewarded in the form of renumeration and social activites.
As long as you are able to join Ingenious with an open mind, and do not have fixed ideas as to what a financial services organisation "should" be like, you will enjoy working for them.
Not a negative, per se, however there are times when other areas of the business needs help from other departments and you may be asked to complete tasks that aren't necessarily your job. This all... feeds into the "everyone working together" and entrepreneurial mentality to ensure the business succeeds.
Advice to Management
Clearly defined priorities for the business and increased communication from the top down. This is clearly something that has been raised previously, and there is currently a conscious effort by... senior management to improve this.
