I have been working at Slater & Gordon UK full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
During this hectic time we are all facing I am glad to say that S&G have not reacted in a way like most and more so taken each day as it comes. A number of industries have folded and made staff... redundant and instantly offered furlough but S&G decided to take this opportunity to use our new equipment out. We have accessibility to work from home with out new laptops and able to stay connected to our most important people ( our clients and colleagues) via Microsoft teams. I am very grateful that I have a partner who is a nurse and 3 young children whereby my management allow me to work my hours accordingly and have given me the support I most require to ensure my family are safe. I was beginning to think as the time went bye S&G would be pushing me more on my work load but to be honest they have not, I ensure that I have worked my hours as and when and the company are offering more home recourses to ensure my health and wellbeing is priority which in this day and age is important. I know this has been right across the board and I am grateful that I have my full wage still coming into the house hold. I know this may be difficult for some people as we all face our own challenges in life but at the end of the day the most important thing we can be thankful for is our job and wages to keep our family going in this crisis. I am finding working from home more comfortable now and actually getting into a routine and not have to worry about 'targets/ work load ' as much as we have the full capability to work and no pressure from our management
Cons
in the past the structure for bonus / pay review was never across the board but now its changed to give everyone a fair chance as its not just the big billers that make S&G work its everyone in... the cog!
Advice to Management
just want to thank you all for your support and constant live vide updates and thing going forward maybe David or Matt could do this on a monthly basis to give the staff some ide on how the business... is progressing month by month. I know we have TL meetings ect but once a month 15 min update on how things are going I think will be really good.
