I worked at POLARIS Laboratories full-time
It's a small company so it's easy to get to know your peers and upper management has an open door policy when they are in the building. Good perks like monthly employee appreciation meals, free soda..., various events and contests. There is a lot of room for advancement in Indianapolis and the company loves to promote from within.
High turnover in specific positions. Lean methodology is promoted throughout the company, but not practiced well. There is little accountability. Missed metrics, late deadlines, etc. are often... brushed under the rug, which is preventing the company from truly excelling. As it is a small company, it can sometimes feel like high school with gossip and cliques at all levels of the organization. Be careful who you trust. Some employees are bulletproof and disagreeing with them will not be favorable for you. The company is very ambitious, but takes on too many major projects with accellerated timelines and lack of staff.
Advice to Management
Implement a 360 review system so that employees and management get fair assessments. It may help eliminate some bias and reduce claims of nepatism and favoritism and reduce some of Management's blind... spots. Narrow your focus and follow projects to completion before adding more to the list. Also, less meetings.
I have been working at Eskenazi Health full-time
-Caring and open Senior Leadership Team - Everyone wants to help everyone succeed -Good benefits
-SLT does seem to micromanage some departments and some work when there isn't a need. -Pay structure could be more competitive and/or transparent. -Not a lot of room for growth
Advice to Management
Be more willing to delegate responsibilities, especially as Eskenazi Health continues to grow and compete with surrounding health organizations. Also, don't be afraid to get more aggressive with pay... structures so good employees aren't forced to leave due to financial reasons.
