I worked at Cogent Law full-time for more than a year

Pros

Strategy and direction is impressive - they're good at what they do. They get lots of new business, which brings opportunities for promotion. They're happy to recruit from within and I saw many good... people start in entry level positions, then rise through the ranks quite quickly.

Cons

They don't care much for staff. Dirty kitchens, no cleaners, bring your own milk. Fair pay in some roles but no additional benefits. They're not "unfair" but they don't give ANYTHING away. Little or... no value placed on their people as an asset.

Advice to Management

The exec's care about the business, but they don't care about the employees. Subsequently the employees don't care about the business. Step back and look at the workforce as a whole. Bring them... together with all-staff meetings, share your values and mission, and get them invested (not financially but personally) in the future of the company.
