Current Employee - Branch Manager

I have been working at Skipton Building Society full-time for less than a year

Pros

Skipton is one of the more supportive workplaces I have been in, with people who seem genuinely interested and keen to share experience and give feedback. There is lots of development opportunity... within the role, supportive and understanding management and a fantastic culture of helping the customer through delivering the right outcome for them and not necessarily the business.

Cons

The company is growing, potentially a little fast for what it is ready for, hopefully though it doesn't lose its unique and customer centric culture in the process. A bit of 'this is how it's always... been done' in terms of many processes, though positive about the direction senior leaders want to take process and customer journey design.

Current Employee - Closing Coordinator

I have been working at SouthStar Capital full-time for less than a year

Pros

Working at SouthStar is amazing. Employees are encouraged to solve problems independently but are welcome to seek guidance from management. The Office Dogs, Finn and Bella, bring so much joy to every... situation. Conflicts are virtually non-existent, and differing opinions are heard out with patience and responded to thoughtfully. Colleagues work diligently toward mutual goals and are willing to assist one another. Coaching and feedback are given in a constructive and considerate manner. Everyone is recognized for their unique talents and contributions. The CEO even takes out the trash. That is no small thing. That is true servant leadership. The office environment is outfitted with every imaginable comfort that would contribute to productivity and well-being. Life-work balance could not be valued more. Regular fun days, parties and outings contribute to the sense of working to live, not living to work.

Cons

I’m officially addicted to the keg of iced coffee.

Advice to Management

Keep up the great work. You are doing an amazing job of managing our growth. I still feel connected to upper management even as we are adding supporting managers. Thank you!
