Current Employee - Sales

I have been working at Starrett full-time for more than 10 years

Pros

There is a nice seasonal restaurant about 5 miles away.

Cons

This company stripped out all benefits such as pension and now have a very basic 401k. Senior Leadership takes no pay cuts yet the average pay of workers is low by local industry comparisons. It’s... located in Athol MA so quality of life is based on your penchant for remote country living. Leadership seems only concerned with their own self preservation in the old silo managed company. Yes men prevail and change agents be gone... this company is no place to hang your hat if you are seeking a career move... poor delivery record, no investment even in an ISO program... I clearly do not know how they remain viable..most large distributors have quietly turned their backs on this supplier. High prices, poor deliveries and antiquated products by comparison to the competition.
