Current Employee - Travel Consultant

I have been working at Trailfinders full-time for more than a year

Pros

Even in normal times, there are lots of perks to working at Trailfinders. The pay is the best in the industry; the training is extensive and thorough; the discounts and the educationals are... unrivalled; and the colleagues are kind, caring and fun. However, in the pandemic, Trailfinders have outdone themselves. They have made sure to keep staff in employment, whilst other companies have rushed to redundancies. They have given their clients the peace of mind to book holidays. They have given their staff the peace of mind that they will do whatever it takes to avoid loss of jobs. In a volatile industry, the company has set themselves up to be a strong and unwavering force. The company will survive the pandemic and as a result of their integrity throughout, they will see business boom. They can be reassured that they will have loyal staff remaining when the tide turns.

Cons

There are downsides to the job but Trailfinders does try to make those clear at the beginning. The hours are long; the consultants are heavily monitored and the approach to leave is inflexible.... However, as I have said above, the company has protected their staff in horrendous times. That is the important thing. Every job is going to have it's downsides, it's just whether they outweigh the positives. For me, the downsides don't. I like knowing the company I work for has my back.

Advice to Management

I would love to be able to give some. The job hasn't been the same this year but that can't be helped. I think the main thing to do is to keep morale up, by continuing to train and support staff. I... thought there would be an imbalance due to furloughing of staff. However, I appreciate you have tried to do that on a voluntary basis so no one felt that they had been pushed into furloughing, when they didn't want to. Keep persevering Trailfinders, we will see light at the end of the tunnel soon.
