I have been working at Tripadvisor full-time for more than 5 years
People here have a real passion for the growth and success of the company. A fun, friendly start up atmosphere. Lots of perks. A company that really care about the values they stand for.
Sometimes a little process driven and US centric but understandably so.

Advice to Management
Some of the recent reviews here are clearly flavoured by the COVID-19 steps EF took, but I wouldn't let that fool you. I joined as a Software Developer just over 2 years ago, after the... reconstituted all their developers into a new, unified team (previously they were scattered with all the business units). While the new team takes 1 step backwards for every 2 steps forward, it's overall a much better place to work than before - having working for other very large software companies, this now feels very similar. Nothing is perfect, but it's quite similar to other large teams now. Software quality is now high on the agenda and we're cleaning up years of underfunding from what was & is essentially sales teams. We've brought in many new people on team which means it's been a little unclear who's working with who - and some backend services still need a thorough review - but overall there's is now a sense of purpose and my team is feeling quite optimistic about what's to come. I work with other developers in Luzern - before COVID-19 we regularly flew to meet with them and our relationship is strong. We've managed to hire strong developers down there as well, and the PM team now much improved, after management shifted out a few of the old-timers.
